American artists Dee Briggs and Jason Boone are exhibiting all new work in their first exhibition together here at Unsmoke. Both trained as architects, the pair will install small scale work in our Braddock Avenue gallery and several large scale pieces throughout Braddock.
Jason Nelson Boone was born in 1979 in King City, Missouri. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University in 2003 and came to Pittsburgh to practice architecture with Bohiln Cywinski Jackson Architects. No longer practicing architecture, Boone currently lives in the Regent Square neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh and owns Urban Tree, a company well know for making exquisitely crafted furniture from felled urban trees. As a sculptor, Boone has exhibited regionally.
Dee Briggs was born in 1968 in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. She received a Masters of Architecture degree from Yale University in 2002 with undergraduate studies in architecture at the City College of New York. Briggs currently lives and works in Wilkinsburg, exhibits nationally and has taught in the schools of art and architecture at Carnegie Mellon University.
